If you have a blog, then you know that your main concern is to get people to the web site and you want them to comment.  The main thing is to stick out from the crowd and build the largest subscription that you can. But how can you do this?  In a world of blogs, how can yours stand out?  Here are five ways you can find your inner voice.

It’s Nice to Have a Niche.
A great way to stand out is to find a niche to base your blog.  The topic should be focused, but not so much that you run out of topics after twelve posts.  When you are thinking about what to write about, think about your reader and what they would find interesting.  Also, think of how the reader will “hear” you.  It’s all right to have a unique voice that sets you apart from others on the internet.  People relate to characters and the base of your fans will become strong supporters if they can identify with your niche.

Content is Key.
You can have a really expensive, fancy blog that has all of the bells or whistles, but it won’t mean a thing if you don’t have good, quality content.  Blogs should be chock full of original content, offer an opinion, and be visually appealing.  You need to engage your readers and have those people converse with you. One way of doing that is to have a continuance of your blogs.  Let one blog build upon the next.  Make them a serial story and you will add readers.

Cherish Those That Read Your Blog.
The people that visit your blog are your friends.  When they comment, start a dialogue with them.  When they say hello, comment that you appreciate their business.  If they pose ideas to you, use those ideas in later posts and give them credit.  People that help you build your blog are the ones you should cater to.  Keep them coming back!

Slow and Steady Wins the Race.
Just like the turtle who beat the hare, you have to keep plugging away at your blog. Those that continue to write, week after week, month after month, will eventually gather more readers, which, in turn, will make your blog a success. Blogging is still new, but the main blogs out there have been doing it for years.  They were early adapters and their diligence has paid off.  Does this mean that if you start a blog tonight it won’t be a success.  Not at all!  You’ll just have to pay your dues and you’ll eventually pull it off!

Delve Into the Archives.
Something I don’t see a lot of blogs do is talk about the previous writings in their archives.  It is something I want to remedy with this article.  If people are interested in your current post, they might find previous posts interesting.  This, especially works well if you have a long-standing blog.  Let your readers browse through old posts.  You’ll get more people to stay around and your blog will benefit from the extra traffic!
